Course Description

Below, are  the topics taught in 7th grade world history. You will also find the corresponding California State Standard for that unit.

Unit 1: Christianity, Rome, and the Byzantine Empire (7.1) 

Unit 2: The Rise and Spread of Islam in Arabia (7.2)

Unit 3: The West African Empires of Ghana and Mali (7.4)

Unit 4: The Tang, Song, Mongol and Ming Dynasties in China (7.3)

Unit 5: Japanese Medieval Society (7.5)

Unit 6: The Early Middle Ages in Europe (7.6)

Unit 7: The Later Middle Ages in Europe (7.6)

Unit 8: The Renaissance  (7.8)

Unit 9: The Protestant Reformation and Scientific Revolution (7.9 and 7.10)

Unit 10: The Era of Exploration (7.11)

Unit 11: The Maya, Aztec, and Inca Civilizations (7.7)

Unit 12: The Enlightenment (7.11)

 

With each of these units of study we will spend time discussing the many aspects of culture. This includes music, art, literature, religion (Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, and Native American tribal religions), government, social structure, geography, and economics.
