Parents and Guardians,

 

The Norris Middle School virtual Back to School Night will be “going live” on Thursday, September 10th. By 4:00 p.m. on September 10th, your child’s teachers will be posting a Back To School Night video recording within the ‘Announcements’ section in Canvas. The NMS staff truly appreciates you choosing to take time to watch these videos as it will include a variety of important topics such as curriculum, grading, late policies, attendance, and Canvas essentials. This would also be a great time, together with your child, to explore the Canvas platform and view your child’s grades.

 

There is a tenet in the Norris School District mission statement that says, “a respect for knowledge and a strong commitment to provide quality educational opportunities for each of our students.” I know this is what you expect when your child virtually comes to school each morning. I believe this wholeheartedly and I know every staff member agrees as well. You taking part in this back to school event shows that you value the importance of education. Like you, the NMS staff wants what is best for your child. We want them to feel safe, cared for, and to be challenged academically.

 

I would like to leave you with our ultimate goal as a district and school in the words of Dr. Pierucci, beloved Norris educator and administrator. We hope that your children are better today than they were yesterday. We hope they are better tomorrow than they were today.
