My role here at Norris Middle School is to advocate for all students and provide services that foster academic achievement and emotional well-being. I meet with students individually and in small groups with a focus on improving study skills, relationships, communication with family and friends, decision-making skills, problem solving skills, and the building of self-understanding. My aim is to help students handle problems that might get in the way of learning, guide them to productive futures, and try to create a positive environment for everyone at school. I am not a therapist, but am here to listen to students, take their problems seriously, and work with them on finding a solution. Other services include crisis counseling, referrals for services within the school and community, and classroom guidance lessons.
