My goals are to provide enjoyable and positive learning experiences, stressing a strong curriculum in language arts and math. I want each and every one of my students to have a good feeling about herself/himself and about school. I will strive to provide a stimulating learning environment, which will be engaging, challenging, and successful for each child in his or her own unique way. - I wanted to take a minute to introduce myself and share a little bit about my background. I was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. I attended Garces Memorial High School and then California State University Bakersfield on a Soccer Scholarship.
I graduated from CSUB in 2001 and began substitute teaching for the Kern High School District. It was there that I discovered my passion for working with students with disabilities. I started in the Norris School District as a Long Term Substitute in the Winter of 2003. In the past I have taught Mild/Moderate 2nd - 6th grade SDC and Moderate/Severe Kindergarten - 1st grade SDC. I am currently teaching 7th - 8th grade Math & ELA RSP.
I married a fellow Garces Alum and we have 3 children. My son is a senior and my older daughter is sophomore at Garces High School and both are Norris Middle School Graduates. My other daughter, the baby of the family, is a 6th grader at Bimat Elementary in the Norris School District.
Over the years I have gone back to school and received my Language and Academic Development (LAD) Credential and my Administrative Services Credential. I love being a student and continuing my education so I can provide the best instruction to my students. I want to thank you for allowing me to work with your son or daughter and look forward to meeting all of you.
